The International App Development Conference was proud to announce the launch of AppXtra!

4 specially held evening open floor surgeries taken by local industry professionals working in the creative industries. The sessions centred around everything an Appjammer needs  to know to enter the industry and succeed.

The sessions, taken by creative industry professionals were aimed at students & individuals at the start of their creative career’s, looking to start a business or just interested in starting out within the creative industries, focus on the basics of creative development and offer valuable advice in a platform that is rarely offered on such a personal basis – the best bit, it was all FREE!

Session 1 - Creative Industry Start-Ups
Monday 8th of November, 7pm – Discovery Point, Dundee
Scott Downie of Hungry Boy & Hungry Boy Productions  lead the session giving open and frank advice around starting up your own business in the tough current climate and looked at cost effective ways that are aimed at cutting the risk of your new foray in to the creative industries!

Session 2 - Design & Illustration
Monday 8th of November, 8pm – Discovery Point, Dundee
Lyall Bruce of Sooper Double D  lead a session based around the design and illustration aspects of creative development. Having designed outstanding material for a wide range of platforms Lyall was the perfect person to answer questions on anything design or artwork related!

Session 3 - Small Development Programming
Tuesday 9th of November, 7pm – Discovery Point, Dundee
This session provided the understanding and thought behind successful developments down to the implementation programming project management!

Session 4 - Sliced Bread
Tuesday 9th of November, 8pm – Discovery Point, Dundee
Hosted by Sliced Bread, the creative informal think tank session was open for topics and discussion lead by the attendee’s where they brought a range of subjects to the table and were able to quiz the creative industry professionals and find out what tricks and techniques they use to get ahead!
